What makes Beastess Athletics so great?

I am Dr. Angela Sorensen, a dedicated Strength & Conditioning Coach, educator, and researcher with extensive experience in elite sports performance, weightlifting, and injury prevention. I started Beastess Athletics as a way to share my knowledge and experience with the world. Whether you're here wanting to improve your performance in sports or you're just wanting to get active again after spending too much time behind a desk, I'm here to help!

With a PhD in Sport Science from Middlesex University, I specialize in biomechanics and have published research on weightlifting performance. My professional journey has taken me from coaching NCAA Division I championship teams to working with the English National Ballet School, where I design strength programs and injury prevention strategies for dancers. My passion lies in developing strength and conditioning programs to help individuals optimize performance and reduce injury risks.

Beyond high-performance coaching, I am deeply committed to helping everyday individuals move better, feel stronger, and live pain-free. Whether it's overcoming stiffness from desk work, alleviating nagging aches, or regaining confidence in movement, I create personalized strength and mobility programs that empower people to feel their best at any stage of life. My approach blends science-backed training with practical, sustainable strategies to enhance overall well-being, leaving you feeling better than ever.
Outside of being an active coach, I have created bespoke certification courses presented worldwide, served as a lead online course instructor, and helped develop training curricula. I frequently offer CPD courses for those looking to elevate their coaching game, whether that is through teaching advanced technical breakdown and correction or through teaching the art behind the science of coaching. My academic role as an Assistant & Researcher at Middlesex University has also allowed me to mentor students and conduct research in strength training and rehabilitation.

I have had the privilege of delivering invited lectures and conference presentations worldwide, sharing insights on weightlifting biomechanics, injury prevention, and strength training in performing arts. Whether coaching elite athletes or helping individuals reclaim their physical confidence, my mission remains the same: to elevate human performance through science-based training and education.
