I've known Angela for a few years now and she has been an amazing coach. One of the biggest issues with CrossFit is the form in which people do Olympic weightlifting and I was lucky enough to have Angela as a coach in the CrossFit affiliate I go to. Her expertise help me develop the strength and movement patterns required to avoid injuries (which was my biggest concern going into CrossFit at late age of 40). She's great at making weightlifting accessible and fun. If you ever get her to coach you, consider yourself lucky and try and get the most of it!

I was introduced to Angela as a young fresh CrossFit coach when I was nervous to take on the responsibility of coaching Oly to our members. At the time the Olympic lifts seem complex and scary, and I felt under qualified to be the one trying to refine people mechanics on these movements. In came Angela, to be honest it wasn’t love at first sight, I was scared of her (being so much more knowledgeable then me) and she later told me that she had been scared of me too. But within weeks in each others company we just clicked. Angela installed not only confidence in me when coaching the Olympic lifts, but also a love for them. She taught me how to break down the movement, how to spot flaws, what drills to implement to make the lifts more efficient and how to program for an Oly class. She also through the process helped me improve my technique and achieve my own PBs in both the clean and jerk and the snatch. My Saturday mornings with Angela for 4 years will forever be some of my favourite memories, and I know those sessions were always fully booked out due to her. She was able to adapt to larger groups of members showing up when we ran out of space and barbells, she was able to adapt her approach to meet the “needs” of crossfitters and she was able to adapt to all the restrictions of Covid. She never let me or the members down. I credit both my confidence in coaching Oly and my ability to clean and jerk over my bodyweight to the time we spent together and I hope in the years to come we will have the opportunity to work together again!
