What is Beastess Athletics?

Here is where the journey began...

Angela began her weightlifting career in 2004 when she was fresh out of college having competed as a heptathlete for the University of Nebraska - Kearney Track & Field team.  Searching for a way to stay competitive, she found Olympic-style weightlifting soon after and hasn't looked back!  She started competing on the national level in 2006 and has been coaching athletes to the national level since 2011.

On the educational front, Angela has a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science from the University of Nebraska - Kearney, a Master's Degree in Sport & Exercise Science from Middlesex University, and is currently in pursuit of a PhD at Middlesex University, studying weightlifting kinetics and kinematics.  She is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist, a USA Weightlifting National Level Coach, and holds two certifications through the National Academy of Sports Medicine.

On the professional side, Angela has been a strength and conditioning coach for over 15 years.  She has worked in almost every aspect of the health, fitness, and performance industry; from personal training to physical therapy to D-I college athletics. She currently finds herself working as a strength & conditioning coach at an international ballet school, which has been an interesting and welcome new challenge.  Her experiences across such a broad spectrum have given her a unique perspective on what it's like to be both a coach and a competitor in an ever-changing world.  In addition to all of her coaching experience, she also has experience in coaching education, having co-authored and co-instructed the Eleiko International Strength Coach International Level 1 course.

The Mission:

Education.  Whether it's sports performance, weightlifting, personal training, or coaching education, knowing the when, why, and how is the key to long term success!
